Year 12s attended ‘Safe Drive Stay Alive

On Tuesday 28th of November Year 12 students attended ‘Safe Drive Stay Alive’ event at Winston Churchill Hall in Ruislip. A production combining film and real life anecdotes was organised as part of Road Safety Week to help encourage careful driving among young people.

The 90-minute ‘Safe Drive, Stay Alive’ hopes the challenges facing inexperienced drivers and passengers, including the hazards of texting, peer pressure, distractions, drinking and drugs. A bereaved parent and a seriously injured crash survivor also spoke about their ordeals. Pupils were shown a video that demonstrated the impact of not driving safely.

The students found the event emotional but also very beneficial in regards to road safety awareness.
