  • Children in Need 2018

    A huge thank you to all pupils and parents for helping us raise money for Children in Need on Friday 16th November.  Pupils and staff from across the Multi Academy Trust came together and dressed up in their best spotty pyjamas and were involved in a variety of activities throughout the day. Our pupils could all be future basketball players with their skilful shoot-outs. Thank you for all the sponsorship money and for contributing towards the cake sale.

  • Minet Park Visit

    The Year 4 pupils enjoyed a visit to Minet Country Park to learn more about different habitats and the animals that lived there. Pupils were engaged in a grass sweeping activity which enabled them to look closely at the animals that lived there. They also explored the pond area in Minet Country Park whereby we discussed how the animals that lived there differed to those that lived in the grass.

  • National Young Mathematicians Award

    This half term, 4 lucky pupils were selected and given the opportunity to take part in the National Young Mathematicians Award. After a successful first round, pupils headed to the Explore Learning Centre for Round 2. Out of 114 schools, Nanaksar Primary School and Guru Nanak Sikh Academy were the only two groups that got through to the second round which is a fantastic achievement!

  • Sports Ambassadors

    This term pupils were encouraged to apply to become Sport’s Ambassadors for the school, through completing an application form. The roles and responsibilities include:

    Promoting a healthy lifestyle in school,

    Organising healthy living competitions,

    Helping with lunch time clubs and equipment and

    Supporting with Sport’s Day

     

    Well done to all pupils who applied and we wish you all the best in your new role and look forward to seeing you wear you badges around the school!

  • Steel Pans Band

    This half term, Year 5 pupils have been attending ‘Steel Pans’ after school. Pupils have enjoyed this thoroughly by learning new skills. They have learnt tunes, rhythms and notes on Steel Pans. Pupils have learnt a variety of sounds and have played it in a tune. Well done to pupils who have participated and I hope they carry on learning these skills next half term.

  • Gym and Dance Show ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

    This term Nanaksar Primary School and GNSA took part in the annual Gym and Dance Show, which involved dance and gymnastics performances. Our Year 4 pupils stunned the audience with their balances and rolls, whilst Year 4 and 5 performed a dance piece with GNSA primary.

  • Year 4 Recorder

    Through the Hillingdon Music Hub, Year 4 pupils have the opportunity to participate in recorder lessons each week. Well done to all pupils for making a really good start to the sessions and we look forward to hearing your talents throughout the year.

  • Royal Albert Hall

    On Sunday 12th November, the Young Voices choir made their third appearance at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall. They joined 1000 other young singers to perform Handel’s Messiah. This is a baroque piece of music which is accompanied by an orchestra. For the first time, Nanaksar Primary School students are now able to audition for the choir and so 8 new members have joined the choir this year. Rehearsals began in September following a round of competitive auditions.  Our Young Voices performed brilliant – congratulations!

  • Councillor Simmonds Visit to NPS

    On Tuesday 21st February 2017, Councillor David Simmonds CBE visited NPS. Councillor Simmonds is the Deputy Leader of the Council & Cabinet Member for Education & Children's Services in Hillingdon. He was warmly welcomed to the school and spent the morning visiting pupils in their classrooms. Some of our School Councillors  presented him with a gift to thank him for his visit.
