Guru Nanak
Multi Academy Trust

Key Stage 1 and 2

We intend to meet the high expectations of the new National Curriculum, launched in September 2014. Our curriculum ensures that our pupils’ learning is meaningful and benefits from a focus on the core requirements of the English and Mathematics curriculum, as well as purposeful learning across all Foundation Subjects. The changes to the curriculum have provided teaching staff with the opportunity to incorporate challenge and high expectations within the framework, for all year groups.

Further details about the National Curriculum can be found here:

Pupils in Year 1 to Year 6 are to be taught in line with National Curriculum objectives. They are taught the ‘core’ subjects of English and Mathematics. The ‘Foundation’ subjects of Science, History, Geography, Music, Art, Design and Technology, Computing and Physical Education are taught in line with the National Curriculum, where lessons are tailored and adapted to meet the needs of our pupils, through exciting and purposeful learning.
