Children become heroes for World Book Day!
On Thursday 7th March 2019 GNSA Primary joined other schools across the country in celebrating reading and World Book Day.
This year saw another exciting theme for the children to dress up as: heroes. The children were very imaginative in their costumes with some as superheroes, some personal heroes and some dressing up as everyday heroes or historical figures. They put in a lot of time and effort to create the outfits and looked amazing!
Once they were in school they had a hero themed day with plenty of opportunities to read as well as some art and writing tasks. Mrs Lachhar and Mrs Chauhan led a special, heroic assembly where the children thought about the qualities of a hero and showed off some of their own personal heroes. To inspire and enthuse the children throughout the day, the children had access to fantastic displays of hero-related books and visiting readers to share new texts with the classes.
Both the children and staff loved the day, praising the organisation, excitement and activities. It certainly inspired the children to read more and showed them that heroes don't always wear capes!
