Welfare

The welfare team has access to a wide range of resources and can support parents and families with a range of issues. Some examples of areas we can help with:

  • Medical support for children during school hours
  • Liaison between home and school
  • Help accessing other support services (local and national) for students and families
  • Help understanding how you can help your child succeed at school through attendance

Meet the Team

Lakhvir Gill – I have been with the Academy for over 6 years.  The welfare role has given me the opportunity to help students and parents/carers with medical and attendance needs. We have an extensive range of contacts with outside agencies. This helps us to provide a variety of services to improve their school experience. Our strong team of staff are here to assist all students/parents with queries regarding their medical care and attendance.

Kuldeep Virk – I am a mother and have always wanted to work with children. After studying towards my child-minding qualifications, I decided to apply for a post in school. I initially started out in the Secondary phase in September 2011 and then moved to the Primary phase in 2012. I enjoy working with the students, staff and parents in the Primary.
