As a Sikh faith Academy, Guru Nanak Sikh Academy is subject to section 48 inspections to assess effectiveness in providing faith education.

Each school is given an overall judgement based on four aspects of the life of the school:-

  • Religious Education and Sikh Studies
  • Collective Worship
  • Development of pupils’ moral, social and cultural development (SMSC)
  • Leadership, Management and Governance

We were inspected on the 11th of June 2019 by a registered S48 inspector who visited our assemblies, several Religious Studies lessons across secondary and primary phases, and spoke to key members of staff and leaders.

This inspection of the school was carried out under section 48 of the Education Act 2005 and guidance from the Guru Granth Sahib and the Sikh Rehat Maryada.

We are delighted to report that we were graded ‘Outstanding in each of the four categories and ‘Outstanding’ overall. A full version of the report can be found on the link below.
